An electronics supplier approval is the internal review a company runs before it buys from a new supplier. Purchasing, quality, engineering and compliance each check different evidence about the supplier and the exact product.

What documents are needed to approve a new electronics supplier?

Most teams ask for company and financial information, an ISO 9001 certificate with a relevant scope, control plans and traceability records, the technical specification and test records for the exact model, and the compliance files for the target market (CE, UL, RoHS and REACH where they apply).
